Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.
It seems pretty unwelcoming, though, to write in the third person, so here's some of what you might be wondering about ... What's your publication history? Publication and prizes have lots to do with hard work, but luck--especially who reads your work when--matters, too. That said, I'm most grateful to the editors of The Georgia Review, Fourth Genre, River Teeth, The Rumpus, and all the other journals who have published my essays and reviews. The most meaningful accomplishment has been my Pushcart Prize (XLI). I taught for years out of the Pushcart anthologies, so joining the pages was an incredible thrill. Where do you teach now? I'm not teaching these days, but I spent over a decade in college classrooms. So what are you doing instead? Working in the acquisitions department of a scholarly publisher. It's a great gig--I get to read a lot of fascinating material and work with thoughtful authors. Plus I have incredible colleagues. Do you take on private students or freelance editing projects? Yes, when time allows. If you're interested, just get in touch via the Contact page. Serious inquiries only, please. |
